Who We Are
Small Potatoes Gleaning Project volunteers harvest over 250,000 lbs of produce each year that would otherwise go to waste.
What We Do
Small Potatoes Gleaning is a project of Bellingham Food Bank, Whatcom County's largest emergency food provider and the distribution agency for other food banks and feeding programs in the community. Over 10,000 clients visit Bellingham Food Bank each month--that's more than 1 in 6 residents of Bellingham.
Small Potatoes Gleaning Project works with volunteers to harvest produce that would otherwise go to waste on local farms, the Bellingham Farmers Market, and at backyard fruit trees. Gleaning is one of several agricultural programs of Bellingham Food Bank focused on ensureing that the organization has fresh and healthy food to distribute among all the food banks of Whatcom County.
