Whatcom Museum Field Trip Intern

Expired

Description

The Whatcom Museum is looking for a field trip intern to assist with our busy spring field trip season from the beginning of April to mid-June.

Field Trip interns help education staff with educating K-12 audiences in the museum. The majority of field trips are based around our People of the Sea and Cedar gallery which educates 3rd and 4th graders on the history, art, and culture of the Lummi and Nooksack tribes. We are also running a pilot program of art field trips centered around our new Verdant exhibition. Interns can also assist with general volunteer tasks and our Free First Friday program. You must be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8:30 am – 12 pm to participate.

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. We are looking for students who have experience working with children, are comfortable with public speaking and have an interest in museums, arts and culture, and history.

If you are interested, we would love to meet you, learn more about your experiences, and see if you would be a good fit for the internship. Please reach out to the education team at btgirnus@cob.org to set up an interview time.
