Description

Earth Day presents a great opportunity for the community to come together and take a good look at the environment around us. One aspect of Lydia Place’s mission is to create sustained independence for the people we serve in the community. While this may often refer to creating a sustainable lifestyle, we also emphasize the importance in maintaining a sustainable environment. Many of our campuses give our clients access to an area to enjoy the outdoors, to let their kids play, and to learn how to garden. So every Earth Day, Lydia Place works with local volunteer groups to give the outdoor areas of our campuses and business office locations a little bit of extra love and attention. From picking up left behind trash, raking leaves, weeding, planting new flowers and vegetables, to revamping unused spaces, we work with the community around us to enhance the physical environment around us. We hope you can join us this Earth day as we roll up our sleeves to make room for spring and growth!

If you have a group who would like to work with us this Earth Day, contact ritat@lydiaplace.org
