New Food Recovery Opportunity at Mt Baker Care Center!

Join our Food Recovery Driver volunteer pool!  

There are plenty of opportunities available, but our latest shift opening is to deliver surplus food from Mt Baker Care Center and Summit Assisted Living to Unity Village, Gardenview Tiny Home Village, and The Birchwood Food Desert Fighters! This opportunity occurs every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am to 11:00am and usually takes up to 1 hour.

The details: 

Sustainable Connections' Food Recovery Program reduces food insecurity and addresses climate change by recovering and redistributing nutritious surplus food to neighbors in need of food assistance. We need volunteers to help pick up food from restaurants and transport the food to hunger relief agencies. Sign up here!

Plan to: 

  • Drive your personal vehicle.

  • Lift food trays as heavy as 25 lbs.

  • We will provide you with a scale and on-site training! 

Everyone is welcome! 

In addition to on-site training, we provide written instructions for each pickup location and drop-off site.
