Description

Join our Food Recovery Driver volunteer pool!

Sustainable Connections' Food Recovery Program reduces food insecurity and addresses climate change by recovering and redistributing nutritious surplus food to neighbors in need. We need volunteers to help pick up food from restaurants and transport the food to hunger relief agencies. Sign up here!

We have a diverse list of food recovery opportunities between Monday and Friday from 8 am - 4 pm. Each shift only takes 30 minutes to an hour and works well for people with busy schedules.

We currently have a couple afternoon shifts we need help with!

  • Kombucha Town - Fridays at 3pm
  • Starbucks - Mon, Wed, & Fri between 1pm and 3pm
  • Otherside Bagels - Mondays and Thursdays at 3pm
  • The Bagelry - Fridays at 3pm

Plan to:

  • Drive your personal vehicle
  • Lift food trays as heavy as 25 lbs.
  • We will provide you with reusable containers for food.

Everyone is welcome!

We provide on site training for your first volunteer shift in addition to written instructions for each of the pickup locations and drop off sites. Please contact us when you sign-up for your first shift and if you have any concerns or accessibility questions.
