Who We Are

The Bellingham Community Meal Program (BCMP) serves a free, fresh, delicious meal to area residents in a warm, respectful atmosphere. Numbers of meals served in recent years has ranged from 75-80 per day.

Everyone is welcome to a free nutritious meal the last Saturday of the month (January through October) at the Assumption Church School Gym on Kentucky St. near Cornwall Avenue close to a bus stop. Doors open early for coffee and hot chocolate, and we begin serving lunch/supper at 10am-12Noon.  Take out meals are also offered. Each BCM meal includes a hot entree or main course salad, a starch (mashed potato or rice), cooked vegetable, fresh salad, bread and butter, pudding, dessert, coffee/tea, milk and juice.

Who enjoys our delicious free meals? Our guests represent a broad range of people. Some guests have come for years, enjoying the food, their friends, and our warm, respectful volunteers. We serve seniors, people on fixed incomes, and the homeless. Over the last few years, as our local economy has suffered, we have rejoiced that individuals and families who are experiencing "tough times" have found BCM.

We'd love to have you volunteer with us!  Our volunteers usually work for 2 hour shifts, starting at 8am and finishing up about 4pm on the Saturdays of the Meals. If you can't work on Saturdays we're always in need of cookie bakers who bake at home and bring their treats to the Meal.

What We Do

The Bellingham Community Meal Program (BCMP) prepares and serves a nutritious meal 12 Saturdays a year for any person in need at the Assumption Catholic church gym.

Completely staffed and operated by loyal volunteers, BCM is funded by donations, including cash awards from local community organizations and businesses, bulk food and supplies from local distributors, cash donations, and an ongoing supply of the best homemade cookies and treats ever, lovingly made by our dedicated cookie bakers!
