Our vision is to leave an invaluable legacy of parks, trails and recreation for the benefit of future generations living in Whatcom County.
Our mission is to encourage and promote public and private support for parks, trails, recreational opportunities, and natural areas throughout Whatcom County, its cities, and communities.
What We Do
The Whatcom Parks and Recreation Foundation (WPRF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. It was established in 1989 by a small group of people dedicated to upholding the value of parks, trails, and recreational opportunity in Whatcom County.
Our board of directors are citizens dedicated to our mission. Ex-Officio members represent all of the city parks departments and park districts in Whatcom County, including Bellingham, Lynden, Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2, and Whatcom County Parks and Recreation Department.
