Vision: Everyone in Whatcom County can contribute to and gain from volunteerism to meet community needs and build community vibrancy.
Mission: The Volunteer Center of Whatcom County mobilizes volunteers to meet community needs, builds capacities of organizations to effectively engage volunteers, and inspires support for community service.
Here is what we do:
- CHORE-Volunteers help keep Seniors living in their own homes
- Food Banks (Chore)-Volunteers assist food banks in distributing food to those in need
- Veterans Transportation (Chore)-Volunteers assist vets with transportation to medical appointments
- Volunteer Center Ambassadors-Spread the joy of volunteering
- Hot Sheet-Weekly electronic bulletin listing the 'hottest" volunteer opportunities
- Make a Difference Day-One day in the year we highlight how volunteering can change a person's life
- National Volunteer Week-A week in spring to highlight the wonderful things Partner Agencies do
- Partner Agency requests-Working with the hundreds of non-profits in Whatcom County
- Volunteer Roundtable-Monthly meeting of volunteer coordinators from around the county
