The Volunteer Fund Developer plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Whatcom Family & Community Network by assisting in the planning, execution, and evaluation of fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategies. This position helps cultivate donor relationships, identify funding opportunities, and enhance the organization’s financial sustainability through individual and community support.
Key Responsibilities · Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and events (both virtual and in-person). · Research and identify potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities. · Draft donor communications, appeals, thank-you letters, and impact reports. · Collaborate with staff to ensure donor stewardship and timely follow-up. · Support outreach efforts to engage new supporters via social media, email, and community events, including business sponsorship for annual events. · Attend and represent the organization at fundraising events and networking opportunities. · Provide administrative support to the Development team as needed. · Attend relevant trainings, as available. --- Qualifications · Passion for the mission of Whatcom Family & Community Network. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Experience with fundraising, development, marketing, or customer service is a plus. · Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Flipcause) is a plus but not required. --- Time Commitment · Minimum of 20 hours per month, flexible schedule. · Occasional evening or weekend availability for events. --- Benefits: · Gain experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor development. · Networking opportunities within the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors · Letter of recommendation and resume support upon successful completion. · Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.
