Description

Sustainable Connections’ Food Recovery Program fights food insecurity and climate change by rescuing nutritious surplus food and delivering it to neighbors in need. We’re looking for volunteers to help pick up food from local restaurants and transport it to hunger relief agencies.

What to expect:

-Flexible weekday shifts between 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

-Most shifts take just 30–60 minutes

-A simple, meaningful way to make an immediate impact

Volunteer responsibilities:

-Use your personal vehicle for pickups and drop-offs

-Lift and carry food trays (up to 25 lbs)

-Transport food safely using reusable containers we provide

Support & training:

We offer on-site training for your first shift, along with clear, step-by-step instructions for each pickup and drop-off location—so you’ll feel confident every step of the way.

Everyone is welcome! If you’re signing up for your first shift or have any questions, concerns, or accessibility needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to help.
