Description

Whatcom Land Trust will be partnering with Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) and their Nooksack River Stewards Program to remove invasive plant species along the North Fork Nooksack River to promote stewardship of salmon habitat. RSVP is required. Meet at Rifugio’s Country Italian Cuisine off Mt. Baker Highway to be shuttled to the conservation site. Restoration will take place at the Whatcom Land Trust’s Bell Creek property just upriver by removing pesky invasive plants, including Himalayan blackberry, English ivy and periwinkle. This land is visited by few people because you need a WLT representative present. After a couple hours helping to restore this 25-acre gem along the North Fork Nooksack, join NSEA for a fun and informative presentation on salmon habitat while enjoying a free lunch at Rifugio’s!

  • Limited Space for up to 30 volunteers
  • RSVP Required with NSEA by emailing kkrantz@n-sea.org
  • MeetatRifugio’s Country Italian Cuisine (5415 Mt Baker Hwy, Deming, WA 98244)
