Are you passionate about reducing waste and keeping our oceans clean? Then SeaFeast is looking for you! Zero Waste Ambassadors will oversee recycling and waste stations at the Bellingham SeaFeast festival and help educate guests on how to properly dispose of their waste in the correct bins. This is a chance to educate and inspire others and help us keep recyclable and compostable materials out of landfills.
In 2021, we only sent 1% of refuse from Bellingham SeaFeast to the landfill!
(Most festivals send 50-55% to the landfill.)
Volunteers like you made this happen and we want to work together to continue the success!

Zero Waste Ambassadors main duties will be interacting with SeaFeast guests and informing them about their options of disposal, answering any questions, and making sure all the materials get to the correct waste bins. Ambassadors will also keep an eye on their surroundings and make sure tables stay clear, waste gets sorted, and that the food court is a fun and safe place for everyone.
This volunteer opportunity will require talking to guests and can be done seated, standing, or from a modified mobility device. Dumping transfer bins may require lifting up to 40lbs - if you are not able to do this but you still want to be a Zero Waste Ambassador, we can pair you with someone else who can.
Shifts on Saturday Sept 17th:
- 8am - 12pm
- 11am - 3pm
