Join Us as a Program Volunteer at the Lynden Old Friends Clubs Location

Make a Difference in the Lives of Individuals Living with Dementia

 

Our Mission: Old Friends Club empowers communities to cultivate joy in the lives of adults with dementia and nourish the wellbeing of family caregivers.

 

Program Volunteer Description

Time commitment: 5 hour shift, at least 1x/week

 

Responsibilities:

  • Help with Club set-up/clean-up
  • Assist Program Coordinator/Program Assistant throughout shift
  • Potentially lead an activity, if comfortable
  • Socialize and connect with others
  • Provide valuable support and encouragement to Club members
  • Assist with lunch distribution, set-up and clean-up

Desired Volunteer Qualifications

  • Experience working with the elderly, caregiving, and/or personal experience with an individual living with dementia 
  • Compassionate, friendly, and empathic
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Reliable, punctual, flexible
