Presented by the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center
and the Volunteer Center of Whatcom County

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are powerful experiences that affect our clients and volunteers. Their health, relationships, self-regulation, and on-the-job and school performance are linked to their childhood exposures and responses to adversity.
Training in ACEs is important because our every-day actions matter for preventing ACEs and moderating its effects. In this training participants will be introduced to a common language and understanding of ACEs. They will learn about the progressive nature of adversity - and about promoting resilience, and creating transformative and sustainable change for their clients and volunteers based on current brain science and resilience research findings.
